Jeff State Health and Science

The 4-story Jefferson State Community College Health and Science Center is the third building constructed on the expanding Shelby-Hoover Campus. It is the second building Hoar has been involved with on this campus and our 7th project for the Jeff State system. The 129,000 square foot building includes a 6,000 square foot multi-purpose room that will seat 400 people for special events. The building houses a culinary school which contains fully operational demonstration kitchens and has a student run café that is open to the public. It also contains a nursing school with state of the art equipment for training students in real life environments and art classrooms and computer labs for application and learning. Hoar served as Construction Manager administering the design and preconstruction phases, the bid process, and overseeing multiple prime contractors from initial construction through occupancy.
