Science Center for Kentucky Wesleyan College
Owensboro, Kentucky
The new Science Center for Kentucky Wesleyan College replaces existing outdated instructional facilities with state of the art teaching facilities for a wide variety of science programs and is now called Yu Hak Hahn. Designed to complement the traditional brick architecture of Kentucky Wesleyan’s campus, the 28,000 square foot facility is prominently located at the main entrance to the campus. Construction of the two-story building is steel frame on concrete slab with brick veneer, metal stud, and gypsum board interior partition walls. Since it is primarily a science laboratory building, it required fairly complicated mechanical and electrical system including fume hoods and lab spaces equipped with water, gas, and vacuum lines.
