Thornton Park Central in downtown Orlando is a mixed use project consisting of 56 residential “loft” units, 50,000 SF of office space, 33,000 SF of retail and a 350 car parking deck. The first of its kind in Orlando, Thornton Park Central brings a “New Urbanism design to an old southern citrus town”. Similar to some of the best streets in Europe, by day the project has all the respectability of an urban office setting and by night transforms into a vibrant social setting with outdoor cafes and neighborhood traffic bouncing in and out of their favorite eatery or bookstore. All this can be observed from above by four stories of residential lofts, each with a side street balcony. Hidden from view, the parking garage is sandwiched between the retail/residential and office building giving the area the feeling of a walking city.
