Inn at the Ballpark

Hoar Construction renovated an existing 150,000 square foot office building with a 12-story tower, an open courtyard and a 3-story adjacent extension into Inn at the Ballpark, a baseball-themed, 3-Star, 4-Diamond boutique hotel. The very tight urban site just across the street from Minute Maid Park was bordered on all sides by very busy streets and offered no room for material lay-down. The initial structure was in such a state of disrepair that only the concrete slab and the steel frame were salvageable. One entire corner of the building had to be completely removed to add a freight elevator. The completed hotel includes a 13-story tower, a 4-story extension of the building and an enclosed 4-story atrium. It contains 202 new bedrooms, three ballrooms, a fitness center, a café, and various support spaces.
