Thomas Hospital’s North Tower is a four-story addition that includes a new emergency department and new patient rooms. This 123,000 square foot expansion includes 64 new patient rooms on the second and third floors leaving the fourth floor shell available for future expansion. The new Emergency Department has 28 treatment rooms, a fast-track component for non-critical emergencies and urgent care-type patients, and a separate area designated for trauma patients. The expansion incorporates patient-centered and family friendly components such as larger patient rooms, computer desks in each room, natural lighting, health resource centers, family oriented waiting areas, and comfortable seating for visitors.
