University of Alabama Science and Engineering Complex
Tuscaloosa, Alabama
The Science and Engineering Complex is the expansion of the University of Alabama’s Shelby Interdisciplinary Center for Transportation and Science. This 3-story, 215,000 square foot facility houses, classroom, administrative offices, and multiple laboratories, and lecture halls. Phase II completes the original vision of the University to provide a premiere facility for the campus. Hoar was involved with this project from the early programming phase and will complete construction in Summer 2009. The delivery model is single-prime phased construction packages with Hoar serving as Construction Manager for the University. This project included not only the addition of the new building to the complex but a complete relocation and construction of a new central plant to serve the entire Shelby Complex.
