Birmingham, AL – Hoar Construction recently participated in a ground breaking ceremony for Lee County Board of Education’s new Smiths Station High School in Smiths Station, Alabama. Designed by McKee & Associates Architects, the new school will accommodate up to 1500 students when complete. Situated on a 106 acre site, the school will consist of four buildings totaling 263,316 square feet. There will be an Academic and Career Tech Building with 88 classrooms, as well as athletic fields that include a gymnasium, field house, tennis courts and football practice fields. Construction is expected to be completed for a fall 2011 opening.
