Hoar Construction Completes Four-Story Addition at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL

Birmingham, AL – Hoar Construction, LLC recently completed the North Tower addition at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL. The new addition is a four-story, 123,000 square foot concrete frame expansion to an existing hospital. The first floor is constructed entirely for the Emergency Department. The second and third floors each contain 32 private Patient Rooms and all Nursing Staff Support Areas. The fourth floor is primarily shelled space suitable for 32 future patient rooms. A rooftop penthouse houses air handlers and mechanical equipment. Phase 2 of the project requires demolition of the adjacent 1-story Emergency Department and construction of a ground level parking lot.

The exterior is composed of brick on the first floor and EIFS above. The building addition has 4 new elevators, 2 public stairways, and 2 entrance canopies. The central energy plant upgrades include a new chiller, cooling tower, 1500 KVA generator, and 10,000 gallon fuel tank.
